Burdekin Falls Dam Raising Demand Study

Building Queensland is working with Sunwater on a detailed business case for the Burdekin Falls Dam Improvement project and Dam Raising proposal. The detailed business case will assess improvement works to ensure the dam structure continues to meet best practice safety standards, and potential options to raise the dam to increase water storage and supply in the Burdekin region and surrounding areas.
NCEconomics, in partnership with Synergies Economic Consulting, have been engaged by Building Queensland to undertake an assessment of future water demand and a broader economic assessment. Face-to-face consultation with selected customers and industry associations is underway to gather information about current and future water use.

This online portal has been designed to help us engage with and seek feedback from a broader range of current and potential customers - we want to hear your views on future water use in the region. The information gathered during this process will be used to understand potential future growth, current and future water requirements, water products, and other drivers and constraints to development. The survey for current and future irrigators has now closed.Thank you to all who participated for your valuable input.
